However, it is a standard procedure in pediatric dental offices, often necessary when a tooth has extensive decay or when space needs to be created for orthodontic treatment.

Our compassionate Doctors and their team prioritize your comfort, and your child's during the entire treatment process. After administering local anesthesia, our skilled doctors will carefully extract your child's tooth. If the extraction is complex or the tooth is impacted, our Doctors will discuss sedation options with you to ensure a smooth procedure.

After the extraction, our Doctors will give you post-operative guidelines. To ensure a hassle-free recovery, we suggest the following recommendations for the initial 24 hours following your child's extraction:

• If advised by Doctors, administer over-the-counter or prescribed pain relievers.
• Offer your child soft foods to eat during the first 24 hours.
• Avoid drinking through a straw, rinsing the mouth vigorously, spitting, or brushing the extraction site for at least 24 hours. A dry socket, a painful condition, can be caused by these actions dislodging the blood clot.
• Apply an ice pack wrapped in a towel to the area for approximately 20 minutes to reduce swelling and discomfort.
• If your child has a fever, severe pain, or chills, please contact our office immediately.
